Unless you plan wall to wall Acros, you'd be surprised how sufficient a gently gyre from the closed loop will be.

A 3500gph pump plugged to 4 outlets on you rig will be more flow than most softies require and somewhere between what LPS and SPS like to have.
 
From the pics there is already a valve on the output side of the pump.

Try closing the valve some. This lets the motor do less work so it makes less heat.

I am somewhat surprised you aren't getting bad microbubbles from cavitation.
 
What kind of "lid" are we talking here? Do you mean glass sheets the sit right over the water or a canopy that is hollow inside and houses lights etc?


Your pump is likely adjustable, you would just need to add a ball valve on the return line that runs from the pump back up to the tank.
It’s a hollow canopy that houses lights. There are valves on the back side of the tank that all can be adjusted. I have them all barely open, if I were to open all of them I feel as those the flow would break the tank.

I’d hate to be that guy and you’re probably right. Can you screen shot and circle which one is valve on the output side of the pump? I have absolutely zero experience here so you all have be great.

I definitely appreciate all of the comments. And we do get a lot of micro bubbles and i wasn’t sure where they were coming from.

The valves on the back of each return point are likely to allow you to tune for equal flow to each.

To throttle the pump back more simply, try the one I circled that is just above the outlet of the pump

also I would recommend you to look into the jebao and coral box DC return pumps they are great for the price.
 
I have 12vdc 120mm fans that blow 24/7 onto the surface of my tank water, with extreme surface agitation. This adds to the amount of evaporation for the day but it helps keep the tank cool. Its harder to cool a tank than heat it up
 
The Jebao pumps are adjustable so you can control the flow through the tank.

any bigger that 6500 lph should work at reduced power consumption that you can dial in with the controller. They are less than 2” so you will need reducers that can be glued to your existing pipes.

All good choices as well. Same issue with the pipe reduction. Research them all and get one that matches your own needs. Some are more reliable, quiet, longer lasting work life, but those issues are what you can figure out.
