Closed loops

Does anyone who has a closed loop here regret having it? If I had a hole near their that was originally intended for a return but am not using it/plugged it, i there any reason I could not use that as in the intake to a closed loop.

Why do people use closed loops over just more powerheads anyway?

Other reasons why vs why not get a closed loop?

My 220 has a closed loop but I still have power heads. Keeps the bare bottom nice and clean haha! I think it just really depends on how you have/want it set up
