I've never tried to grow a zoa colony from a single polyp before so I've never noticed this before. I started with a single polyp of Electric Oompa Loompa and every time I've had a new polyp show up the polyp closest to the new one will be the only polyp closed for a few days before the new polyp is visible. Coincidence or has anyone else every observed this?

Pure coincidence, not a rule.

I haven’t noticed this. Will keep an eye out. I’ve noticed that the base of the zoas start to crawl (if that makes sense). A new head shoots up pretty fast. I don’t usually pay attention but I know it’s new when it’s super small compared to the other pieces.
