Cloud Effect

A few questions regarding the cloud effect option....

1. The time is the length of the effect?
2. The frequency means what? How often is moderate vs. fast vs. slow?
3. How much is it dimmed to simulate the cloud effect?

I've set my app to the cloud effect for a 4hr period and didn't observe it doing anything. What I found odd is that at the end of the 4h period my lights started changing weird colors for a 2 minute period..which got me checking. When I went in the app and played around I noticed there is no difference between the aurora and cloud effects. Maybe a programming/app issue?
