So this is a new tank one week into cycling. My pH kept dropping to 7.8 over the last few nights so I added kent dkh. Last night the pH still dropped setting off my apex alarm over and over and now I've awoke to a white cloudy haze all over my glass making it look frosted.
I'm assuming its calcium and that I shouldn't have messed with the pH in a new tank but a clarification on why it came out of solution would help and how do I clean the glass or will it dissolve on its own?
Thank you for any help

What are the calcium and alkalinity readings?

Most likely calcium precipitated out of solution. Water changes to get parameters back inline. Unscented magic eraser might help with cleaning the glass.

Ca is well over 500, probably double, ill test alk when I get home. Since this tank is just cycling should I just let it run till I do a wc at the end of the cycle or will high calcium and the like impede the progression. Ill give magic erasers a go later today.

Don’t even worry about cal Or alk levels lol

you have a one week old tank, let it cycle....

I know better.. the whole thing if any blame could be had was on my ph probe losing its mind and needing calibration. Now my only real concern is cleaning the glass from the calcium and if it had any effect on the cycle as it stands, back to hands off and let it roll, like I said i know better but had to fiddle.
