Sounds like he is getting worse, I would proceed as maritime suggested in rhe previous post.

Best of luck

Sounds like a water change and then triple threat is on the cards then. I have all three of those and will get it done after work.

Near 90% water change, triple-threat administered. Eyes still look about the same, still hiding :|

Second dose of Furan-2 today, Kana/Metro say once every two days. The left eye is looking a bit less cloudy, but the right eye is quite bulged, though it is clear from about the middle to the back. He's still eating, soaking mysis in selcon. Less stress colours on it, more of the normal purple today.. Feel so bad for the little guy, but I'll keep it up as long as it takes.

Wishing your little guy a speedy recovery. I have one of these guys too & he is quite the character. You mention his hiding but my Basil loves to be in a safe spot. His home is a big turbo snail shell and he does not leave it for long even though he’s a feisty guy. These fellas like a hiding place so it’s good to give him something to make him feel safe.

Things look to slowly be getting better. He's been on the triple threat since the 12th, but the right eye is still half-cloudy while the left is bulged but mostly clear. Still eating, but not really swimming much, mostly hiding in the PVC..

So I meant to give an update about a week ago, thought it didn't seem there was happy progress to report. The tailspot was extremely sluggish, hiding, not really eating but its eyes were becoming clearer. Still very bulged, and then I noticed it didn't seem to be reacting at all to light being shone on it. Not even a twitch or "stress" colour change. This was making me think it has been blinded by the infection, but I just continued to keep the the triple threat in use..

As of today the eyes are clear, seem to be about the normal size, and best of all it seems to be seeing perfectly fine. Responding to light instantly, movement, and especially adding food. As of the last two days or so, the activity level has gone from hiding to very active movement and swimming around the QT tank. I'm planning on continuing another couple of rounds, maybe ~4 days, and then thinking of transferring him to a 100% sterile new QT tank for a while without meds to see if he truly is 100%.

Does this sound like a good plan? That would be about a month of medication use.., but I'd hate to be on the mend but then sabotage things.

Yeah. I am taking super active as a great sign, so here's hoping.

Thought I'd give this some closure. The cloudyness seemed to have gone away and I did a large water change on the QT he was in to make sure for a couple of days. By around 36 hours his eyes had gone cloudy again, so I repeated the triple threat for another two weeks. That seemed to finally clear it up once and for all, he's back in the DT and being a happy little Tailspot blenny again.

Thanks for the advice all!

Nice to hear about the successful treatments. Congrats and great job.
