I set up a 10 gal QT tank about a month ago and cycled it. Been working on getting the water parameters as close to DT as I could. About a week ago my water became quite cloudy. There is nothing in the tank yet. It looked a lot like a bacteria bloom that I had in my DT several months ago that went away overnight with the use of UV light. I have run a UV in the QT for a couple days now and there is no improvement. The only thing I’ve added to the tank was a minute amount of baking soda to raise the alk. My parameters are:
SG 1.025
Temp 78
Ph 8.0
Alk 9.5
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 2
Phos <0.2
Cal 390
Mag 1320.
I really wanted to start adding to my QT tank this weekend but I’m not adding anything until this cloudiness goes away. Any ideas?

Do a simple full water change the cycling bac remain adhered. Wipe out the inside of the walls of the tank when drained, with a paper towel and peroxide

Take the biomedia you use and rinse it in saltwater to jet off bacteria aggregates, the core bacteria still remain attached. You'd set back up the clean system and new water and your qt will be as cycled as it is now only with clean water. The rip clean handles both films on glass causing hazy look and it helps water suspended clouding bc all new water goes in the qt tank.

Uggh. Well that really stinks ☹️ But thanks for the info. Never would have considered that
