My tank has cloudy white water
My fish seem to be find but the water is so cloudy I can only see them when they come to the front. What can I do that not costly?
Depends on a few different things. If the tank is new, it just means the sand needs to settle. When you add water to a tank for the first time that has sand, what you're seeing is pretty much just dust from the sand. It will all settle back down to the bottom and clear up within a few days.
Most fine sands some with a water clarity pack that you are supposed to open and poor into the water to quicken this process.
I agree with the above statements that if the tank was newly set up, the cloudiness could come from the dust that could be in the sand. If it's been established for a while, most likely is a bacterial bloom if it's white in color. if it's green in color, then it indicates a algae bloom.
