ok guys .. rinsed the sand...

for 20-Pounds, it took me 2 hrs to get some clear water...

now i am sure i got a bad batch or something. :(
paid for live sand got normal sand in the end....

Must just be a bad batch. No two bags are the same I guess. What a big set back.
 
I used Fiji pink in my 135. It was super cloudy but cleared up after a couple days with frequent filter sock changes. I guess I never really disturbed it after that, but sand sifting gobies and wrasse disturbing it constantly never caused a problem after the initial settling was done.
 
rinsing did not de activate the sand, we used this thread as an example in the sand rinse thread of benefits of rinsing, page 1

Rinsing removed silt only
when the sand was bought, it didn't have worms and crabs it was only bacteria and water and sand, and rinsing didn't remove the bacteria. same sand only cloudless is what you have :)
