Hi all,

so I my tank (65g) has been up for a few months now (~3) and it just won’t clear up. I am constantly seeing what looks like small particles in the water. I have also been fighting a green hair algae issue that won’t seem to go away and not sure what else to do. I try to pick out what I can daily, but it’s is becoming a daunting task with no improvement seen. I recently added some cheato to help in the fight. And advice would be great.

I also recently added a co2 scrubber to my skimmer and upgraded it the curve 5 by bubblemangus.

Do they look like tiny bubbles? If so, it’s possible your return pump is pushing too much flow into the aquarium. Or the microbubbles are being generated in the sump.

You could add more clean up crew members to help with the algae. Are you using RODI water? If not or the media is expired, that could be contributing.

do you use ro/di to mix sw and for topoffs? are you dosing anything (like microbacter7, vibrant, etc?) its either a bacterial bloom or calcium precipitation. if using tap for topoff or salt mixing start using ro/di or distilled from grocery store.. if dosing bacteria stop and it will clear up in about a week.

could also be micro bubbles as stated above

some of them look like bubbles, and I recently tried lowering the pump speed. However, most just look like small specks though I am not real sure.
I am using RODI water, though I am getting all of my water currently from the LFS, including my saltwater. I am hoping to invest in my own unit at the end of October.

I am only dosing PH, because it drops every day.
water is RODI from LFS for top offs, and saltwater comes from the same LFS. I have also been doing 15g water changes weekly
