Cloudy tank

Ok. I’m currently waiting on my clownfish. Parameters are perfect. I did the shrimp cycling, so I’m guessing the cloudiness I’d from the little piece of shrimp. It’s in a little mesh bag, though. I don’t want to take out the shrimp since it’s my source of ammonia until the fish arrive. I tried all the other things like floss, seeing if it’s sediment, etc, so I’m pretty sure it’s shrimp residue. I haven’t added chemipure yet. Should I add the chemipure now or wait for the fish? Also getting a uv sterilizer tomorrow. Any advice?

Hard to say without any images, but carbon could certainly help.

Have you tested ammonia and nitrate? If you have ammonia already you can probably take the shrimp out.

Yeah everything is good. Nitrates are less than 5 and the ammonia and nitrite is 0

Did you add nitrifying bacteria? If you're producing nitrates then your tank is cycled.

If so, ammonia likely elevated. You want to monitor ammonia , When your ammonia is steady at zero for 5 days and Nitrate is steady at 20 or below- You are cycled and tank should have cleared. Adding bacteria such as microbacter XLM will help. Ignore nitrIte Unless sky high
The tank will go through two phases in which ammonia will rise then fall and nitrate will rise and fall which is normal.

I don’t know if everybody can see this, but for future reference, I used a UV filter and two days later, the water is crystal clear. Highly recommended. Mine was only $30.
