So I did a water change and added all new carbon in both filters on one of my reef tanks. And everything was great crystal clear water. Then boom today the water was milky and cloudy as could be. Almost all corals were half open. I was thinking bacteria bloom, but why now why because I change filters? I did wash the ceramic biological filter in tank water but that wouldn't matter because there's enough bacteria in the tank. I'll post a picture in the am.what do you think?

maybe the combo of changing both filters and washibg your ceramic filter at the same time removed enough bacteria. any ammonia present?. it sounds like you have more than one reef tank going so can you use some of the filters from the other tank for awhile?

Yea well all levels are 0 but I should double check. I had no time today really. I did add a cap of prime just for extra security. But still seems odd. Must be a bacteria bloom just don't know why. And yes I can transfer some biologic over if necessary but I'll test it tmrw in the morning to be sure there's nothing fishy going on(pun intended) hahaha

*UPDATE*
Well i woke up today with crystal clear water. Let's see how long it lasts hopefully no more cloudiness.

Corals are still closed. All levels are normal and no amonia or nitrites and nitrates are >5. Don't know why corals are have negative reaction to a water change and new filters ughh
