What could be causing my cloudy water? I have a chemi-pure elite, chaeto, and a biocube filter media inside.

Bacteria bloom or something released it (rock, media, dying animal or other contaminant). Add mechanical filtration and/or poly pad and start looking for something dying. If you have floss take it out and give it a sniff. If it smells like decay something died.

small uv filter will take care of that asap. Always handy to have one. Just run it for a few days and store away for the next time. They make smaller ones.

any one that you can recommend? I have a 32g biocube tank, and my first compartment has the filter/heater, second has the chaeto/chemi-pure, and third compartment has the sump - I guess the best place would be the first one? Are external ones hard to setup?

I think it is called green something. You just pop it in the display for a few days.
