My 120 has quite a few clove polyps. They are brownish.
Should have tried nuking them before they spread but didnt.
Tanks 1 year old.
1 cleaner shrimp, 1 fire shrimp, and 2 peppermint shrimp.
All in tank for 11 months.
Cleaner and fire shrimps are 3 years old now from nano.

Was at lfs a week ago and got 4 peppermimt shrimp.
Put 1 in my frag/lagoon and 3 in the 120.

A week goes by and im looking at my tank and a large patch of the cloves are gone.
This morning another large patch gone.
Did I just get lucky?
Anyone else with similar results?

The only difference is the addition of the new peppermint shrimp.
Kind of weird but like I said earlier maybe I just got lucky lol.

Pic of clove polyps? Maybe they are not actual clove polyps?
I will get one tonight.
Lights dont come on till noon.
I have been told they are from lfs and they look like them but Ill get a pic.
Found one but not very good.

Those look like clove polyps. First I have heard of them being eaten by peppermints.

I will get a better pic tonight but its the only thing added and they are rapidly dissapearing since the 3 were introduced.
Strange but ill take it, as they were multipling very fast once established.

Hi, did you ever figure out what was eating your clove polyps?

Interested as well.
Been considering a couple of peppermint shrimp but have seen scattered reports of them picking at corals.
I don't have any currently. I always liked to have a few because I like critters in my tank and never had any issues. Then people started saying they could eat coral and I stopped keeping them, but I'm thinking maybe they were going after dead or dying coral as they are scavengers. Might test some if they will eat cloves for sure.
