How invasive are clove polyps? I recently purchased a frag of fireworks clove polyps, and while I have hears they have a reputation for being invasive, I also have heard they don’t grow nearly as fast as Xenia. I was watching a clove polyps video by tidal gardens, where he stated that they don’t always grow fast enough to keep up with demand. ( though his idea may of growth speed may be different than the average hobbyist due it being a business for him) he also states that blue clove polyps were the fast growing variety of cloves.

what are you’re experiences with clove polyps? Should I try to isolate? Should I place and keep an eye on it? Or should I re-home to prevent problems?

The small blue ones are a pita!

The large ones (rainbow, firework, etc) are slower growing and more sensitive, FME. The Little orange guys are medium, but can die easily if you forget they are there and bury them. Th daisy type are pretty fast growers and I keep to a rock. The blue can overrun easily.
These are all the kinds I have had experience with.

I have had my fireworks clove polyps for a little over 2 months now, and they have sprouted a couple new heads, but are still on the same frag plug. I would say that these kind of clove polyps are far from invasive, in my experience so far.

These are fine. I have them too. Just keep them on a rock by themselves on the sandbed.

I added mine just over a month ago, 10 heads and has grown sprouts from frag plug, from what I have read they are quick growers but easy to manage, I will be placing mine on and island now it seems happy

Mine just die tried 3 times with no luck iĺ stick with my acro I guess

No idea these were difficult, I thought they would be like gsp.. I was going to get some and place on the back of the rockwork

Mine always die as well. No clue why. Tried 3 times as well. I have seen my foxface munching on them out of the corner of my eye but not positive about that.

Yes, they grow pretty fast and can shadow out smaller corals. I keep mine to their own island rock and peel them back to make frags. Great coral to make your money back on! Nice investment :)
