So I bought some new clove polyps yesterday and upon dipping in Coral rx i found some bristle worms and lil bit of algae. I then proceed to dip in 3% straight peroxide. I probably should have diluted the solution but lesson learned. Now it seems like they are just slowly melting away. What are the chances they will rebound?

You should be thankful. Can’t believe someone actually took your money for those. They are a pest and will take over every inch of your tank. They will survive. They always do. Here is my tank. See how the rocks and glass are dark purple? Most of that is not coralline… clove polyps!

I would get them out of there if I was you. But if you don’t take my advice and somehow they do die, I’d be happy to send you as much as you want :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

These are fireworks clove polyps if that makes a difference. I mean they should be able to take a peroxide dip i would think. I know i have done it before with zoa's

Ahh. Gotcha. I think they are still pretty invasive, but lots of folks keep them and it makes more sense that you paid for them now…

3% is pretty intense. But I still think they might pull through. They are pretty resilient. Anyways, not much you can do at this point but wait and see.

I happen to love cloves. They require moderate light and flow and nitrates around 20 but not well in elevated phosphates. Tanks that receive aminos and trace elements support these best

Fingers crossed. Not too worried about it but another lesson learned.

The OP clarified that they were firework cloves. I’m certain you don’t love BCP… Or do you?

ten feet of tank - All cloves welcomed. I have papaya and some green

Hmmm, maybe I should just learn to embrace mine. How do you deal with them crowding out other corals?
I dont have an issue with them overtaking anything. Same with my Xenia however starting to notice slow spreading with GSP
