I added these clove polyps to my tank 6 days ago. At first I just assumed they needed a few days to adjust like some of my other corals before opening but so far they've only opened like this. I placed them in the bottom third of the tank and in a partially shaded area under a ledge. They get enough water flow to keep them waving in the current. Any ideas what I need to do?

I'm completely new to the hobby so please don't assume I know even some of the basics.

They look pretty open from that picture imo. My cloves are the most finicky coral I have so far, and will close for days before opening again. I have found that if there is not enough nitrate in the water they don’t really open very far. Also looks like there may be some algea on the base which have cause mine to stay closed for extended periods. Keep parameters stable and some nutrients in the water and they will come around.

I was wondering about the algae. They came that way from the seller. Will my cuc take care of that or is there anything else I can do about that?
