Will I be in trouble if I add a banggai cardianl with my singular clown in my 13.5g?
This is my tank (pic below), I've read that the cardinal is a community fish yet I've seen threads saying it's aggressive towards other fish...?
And off topic question completely, would it go head to head with a royal gramma? Or would they ignore one another?

IME bangaii s and clowns have been okay together. The clown could also get in a mood and not be accepting to any new tank mate - IMO it is a reasonable risk to take.

The hierarchy in my tank is female Clown, male Clown, male Bangaii, Yellow Tang and then Chalk Basslet. The Bangaii holds his own against the Clowns and keeps the Basslet away from his area.

Bangai and clown will mix well unless you have large territorial female clownfish. Some clowns get nasty and won’t accept any new tank mates, especially in breeding pairs. If you have a younger clown that’s accepting of other fish then I should be fine. The bangai will mostly ignore the clowns. Make sure you are getting captive bred bangai cardinals, they are considered an endangered species by IUCN red list.

I have 2 clowns and bonded pair of banghi sand they often hang together with no problems. But as others have said there is always a possibility

sweet, yeah I picked one up earlier and they seem really good so far! No aggression at all, they seem to be swimming along one another haha

I have two Bangaii Cardinals with two Clownfish in a 160 and they stay on opposites sides of the tank. Both pairs are always within inches of the other mate and have never shown any aggression to any other fish in the tank, (maybe because the other fish are mostly Tangs and at least three times their size).

My Bangaii Cardinals were extremely aggressive to each other though and I tried many times to keep more than two and they always killed off each other until only one was left. It took many attempts in separate Qt tanks and I finally ended up with the two I have and to my surprise they ended up bonding and are now inseparable. Many Bangaii died in this pursuit though and I almost gave up so hopefully you have a better experience then I did.

I got a female clown harassing my bangi cardinal, but the cardinal won't back down and doesn't like her bullying the other clown. However I've had bad luck
