Clown Breeding and Tank Questions

I am shopping for a 50-65g total volume tank to setup for clown breeding.

I will only have 2 clowns in there and 1 ritteri and 1 haddoni.

Couple questions:

Is the size of the aquarium too big for breeding or is that not an issue?

I have a mated pair of black storm clowns hence ritteri nem. However are they a good species to breed or should I try something else?

Would haddoni be detrimental to this project?

My plan was to get the nems in after 6-8 months and transfer the two clowns over after the nems are good and happy or should I do it the other way? Currently the two are in a 25 aio with a midas and a yellow banded.

I think a lot of breeders keep thier breeding stock in small tanks, like 10 gallons. I don't think a 65 gallon is wrong, but if only goal is breeding I think it is just making more work for yourself. I think. . . and this is just my OPINION. . . you might be over thinking the nem thing too much. I see no reason to add 2 species of nem given they could cause problems. Nor do I see reason to get an expensive or sensitive species of nem, again assuming breeding is the only goal.

I guess the ultimate goal is to have a nem tank where a pair of clowns can breed. Hence the bigger tank and fancier nems.

I might worry about nutrients or lack there of with only 2 clowns in 65 gallons, something to keep in mind.

Then I would just stick with the ritteri. Though keep in mind, clowns gonna be clowns, give them a ritteri and they might host the overflow haha.

That is one thing I was a bit worried about. how to control nutrients. I do testing on a good schedule and can dose if needed. Couple ritteri and couple clowns might be too dull. Maybe I need to rethink my grand plan.

I am not sure but a regular tank is not great to raise fry as they will get “filtered”. I am sure if they get stuck to the nem they won’t survive that endeavor either.
