Clown dead, what disease is this?

Can anyone tell me what disease this is?

One of my clowns has died, the other clownprob will follow suit unfortunately. Both got sick 2-3 days ago, they were fine prior to that. No new fish added to tank and params seem fine.

Please let me know what you guys think this is.

how old is the tank, water parameters, are you using a refractometer and calibration solution, are you using an rodi? There is too little info to go off of right now to help pinpoint anything

They were not qt, i got them from LFS, which has a good rep for their clowns. I know a few peeps who buy from them regularly and don’t qt those clowns.

Needless to say now, it was a mistake on my part and I shall not be doing that again. Learn the hard way

I’ve had these clowns for about 6 weeks now. Nothing else was added so it’s surprise to see it happening now.

I tried ruby rally pro for 2 days.

Not sure what it is. Velvet or ich. I thought it was brook hence rally reef.
Either way, it looks very bad.

It sucks big time buddy.
I had clowns that died before, but that was maybe 5-6 months ago. Left the tank fallow before getting these 2 new clowns so that’s quite a long time. So it seems the new clowns must have had Sth and it only showed up 6 weeks later upon entering my tank.

Strange one.

At reef safe doses, ruby reef loses effectiveness.
Looks like ich to me though, best treatment is copper in a qt tank.

The still frame at the end of the video shows distinct white spots on the fins and body of the surviving clown indicating crypo/ich or velvet. Both are best treated in a QT using copper power or copper safe. At a concentration of 2.5 ppm.

You should get the copper to 2.5 asap. Immediately dose half and 4 hours later the second half. Copper is not effective until the full dose is administered and you don't have time to do it gradually.

When my tank broke out with ICH I attempted to treat the tank with Ruby Rally Pro first, but it ultimately proved unsuccessful. I ended up having to pull out all the fish and put them through a proper 30 day+ QT with copper. Several of my corals didn't like the Ruby Rally Pro treatment either... some of them didn't open back up for a month. Best bet is to set up a QT tank and let the DT tank go fallow now.

external parasites will drop off the host every few days to reproduce and then you get more of them later on. Also if you dont go fallow it will still be in the tank and can attack any future fish you put into the tank

Spots disappearing is typical of ich, part of its life cycle involves falling off to reproduce. It comes back in greater numbers. This is seen in many parasites.
