So on 12/6 I got a pair of clowns after they started eating on 12/8 I dosed with prazipro 12/15 put carbon in to strip med. Well this morning I woke up and went to check on them one was dead not really sure what happened they were both eating yesterday and we're fine last night but one was dead this morning no warning. I will incluse some pictures. Ammonia is 0 nitrites 0 nitrates 1.5. The other clown seems to be fine and dandy I just want to make sure he stays healthy please help. I'm doing a fw dip on the dead one they are in a 10 gal that I cycled before putting fish in. There have been no spikes of any kind.

Also does carbon strip prime from the water incase I need to use copper

When did you dose Prime? I've never experienced this myself, but have read of people claiming that mixing Prime with Prazipro = dead fish. :(

Only when I started the tank 3 weeks ago I didn't have enough ro/di

I don't see anything wrong with the dead clown. Did your postmortem FW dip show any dead (white) flukes?

This is him in the fw dip I don't see any but microbubbles formed on all of the sides. But I don't see anything wrong with the fish except the loss of color.

Honestly, I think all you can do now is watch the other clown for symptoms of disease. It sucks but sometimes fish just die for unknown reasons. :( Could have been something internally wrong with him that you can't even see.

I guess I'm just fustrated I started and cycled a tank got it running and got 2 fish short story they both died. That tank is going fishless right now I got 2 more and did the qt (I'm glad I'm learning the qt lesson early) now 1 is dead and it was fine last night. Ugh

When it rains, it pours sometimes. :( I myself went thru a time when I couldn't keep any fish alive. Everything died on me; this lasted almost a year. This is when I finally decided I had had enough of ich management and wanted a clean slate with all new fish moving forward.

It sounds like you're on the right track now. Unfortunately, sometimes there will still be some bumps in the road before your path is finally clear.
:)

Don't let it discourage you. We all have had losses and frustration. But the beauty of a reef is great satisfaction when you see it flurrish n growing. We all have heartbreaks it's the test of us to find a solution and move forward.

Humble... would this red veining on the face indicate anything?

The coral and crabs are doing great! It just makes me more determined!

@melypr1985 That's normal to show up on postmortem fish when the skin pigmentation has started to lighten/decay.

Ok well the other fish died big shock. How should I sanitize all my qt stuff tank filter etc.

wipe it down with white vinegar, rinse and let it dry for a few days. I'm sorry for your loss. :(

Last night I did see heavy breathing dosed with copper I didn't think he would live because of how small he is. Due to the time table I'm guessing this could have been ick? I will do an inspection soon
