Well, it's finally happened. The juvi clowns I bought at the Nashville swap (a year apart from one another) are all grown up and having babies of their own. I couldn't be prouder.

You know, I have had clowns from the start and never had them spawn. Tomoko told me the other day that you have to feed them to get them to spawn. Do you feed them?

Well, yes, but nothing special... prime reef, marine cuisine, fish & reef algae. As with all my fish they are VERY fat and robust.
I'm not sure how common it is for a pair to spawn in the aquarium, but I've heard of it quite a bit so it can't be that uncommon. Yours just must be shy H@rry.

You know H@rry is staring at them tring to make them do it.Good luck.A pair of ours waas laying and then we had to do some rearranging and they stopped. We kept one batch alive for five days.We are doing pretty good with the cardinals.Just waiting on the clowns to be happy agin.

I work in a facility with 7 pairs of adult clownfish (A. bicinctus). Recently, all became breeders (I personally paired 3 sets of the fish, and all 3 began spawning less than 1 month post-pairing). While diet is important, I also think water temperature and light cycle play a critical role. I am no expert, just my two cents :)

I maintain my tanks at 27 C and 12L:12D photoperiod.

Nah, you don't have to feed fish. Already plenty for them to eat with all the bugs and hair algae. I think Mariner is dosing Viagra or something.

I have had a spawning pair for a long while now, never got any babies out, because I dont have room for another tank to put them in. LOL.
