Clown Finally Hosting! Not An Anemone However...

That's cool! When mine finally decided to host something, it was a big ugly clump of hair algae growing on the back wall that I scraped off the next water change.

Yipee. She may still decide to find the nem.

Still waiting on my onyx pair. Just added a nem a week ago though. Hoping it is less time than my last pair (7 months).

I have an anemone, but my clowns like the bubble corals also. The larger maroon /gold clown is usually the one found with the bubbles although the smaller one has been seen with them on occasion.

great looking tank!!! do you have any anemones other than the mini maxi? they pack a mean sting even for clowns.
i've had clowns take to frogspawn and hairy mushrooms before. if you dont have any other nems BTA's are always a good choice and i've never had issues with clowns taking to them

Guess I assumed you had a bta in there somewhere. The clown will not go near the maxi mini. Good she found something though. The behaviors will change and are quite fun to watch.

I use to have a bta but it died when I had some big tank issues. They never hosted it. I am going to pick up another one in a few weeks along with a nice green toadstool. I have seen clowns host toadstools as well. I have the mini maxi and a rock anemone.

Both my mini maxi and rock nem have been great. The red mini maxi moves a bit here and there but it's all within a few inches. The rock nem hasn't moved since day one. It will move a inch when the light go out into a crevice in a rock then out when lights are on.
