Clown Fish/ 3 Duncan Polyps *potential hoST???

Ths smaller of my 2 clown fish has figured out this duncan polyp in my tank, and since then has been goin mouth first into the centerhead kind of aggressivly i would say. How would i know that it is not hurting the polyp!?!? Also how would i know that it is hurting the polyp?? The polyp is retracting all tentacles when he is done messing with it. That's why i am concerned!?!?

My Duncan responds that same with when my clown attempts to reside in it. The polyps being retracted is a sign the coral is withdrawing from a stressor. Other corals such as the Euphyllias seem less stressed in the presence of Clowns. All I can say is my Duncan does not like it therefore I moved the piece so the Clown would move on to something else and that worked for me.

No they did not do the full on dive in. If an overly enthusiastic Clown can stress and Anemone to the point of death then I have no problem believing that an LPS would react badly in the long run to being assaulted by Clowns. I guess it comes down to the fact that the polyp is closing, so I am going assume that the coral is not responding favorably to the Clown residing there.

That is most clowns. Clowns are a type a damsel, just a pretty bully lol.

Lol .... They are pretty hardcore ... I picked them up in tank breakdown ... When I got to the house u could smell tank as soon as door opened
Heaters power heads sump everything unplugged about 3 weeks before ... Tanks was half full of muggy water from evaporation
And these guys where still alive and kicking in 62 degree water !!!
There troopers for sure !!!!
