Clown fish acting very strange

Howdy,

My one clownfish has been off the past couple days out of no where. He/she is ~ 3 months old. The clownfish appears to be breathing really heavy the mouth keeps opening and closing at a rapid rate. It practically lays on the rock unless someone walks into the room. When it's time to feed the fish comes to life and eats almost normal. A little less than it used to but still eats for sure. The clownfish has no marks on it whatsoever.

All my other fish don't appear to be having any issues.

Parameters are:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 1
Nitrite: 0
Salinity: 1.025 / 1.026
Alk: 7.6 dkh
Temp 78.6 F

Any new additions to your tank? Has everything been qt’ed? Any spots or marks on the fish? Can you post pics with the whites on?

No spots on the fish. No new additions for like 3 weeks. Fish bought from place that runs copper take it for what it's worth.

Maybe @Humblefish can help.

The second clown appears to be having similar symptoms now.

They lay on the rock or hide inside the rock holes and come out when you're near the tank. They both eat - just not as crazy as they used to.

No marks on the fish just extreme rapid breathing

I looked into brooks thinking it may be but there is no mucus or issues that appear on the skin.

I am at a loss and I'm gonna be upset if half pint passes..

He is the smaller clown and sometimes goes head down into a rock hole.. could he somehow be mating ?

He may have ich and you just arent seeing it yet in the white spots but it may be in the gills? Or you need some more water turbulence to get more 02 in? Idk, it's hard when there is only one symptom. You could catch and qt for a while or just wait it out and see if anything else develops. Maybe try increasing flow/surface turbulence in the mean time if you can.

There is a huge amount of flow in the tank!

Ordered prazipro / metoflux and focus to soak my food in..

My skimmer runs on for 3 hours off for 4.
