hello everyone,
I have 2 pairs of clownfish, orange and black. Since about 2 weeks the orange clownfish started attacking the black. They chase them into a corner at the top of the aquarium and Don t let them leave that area. They have been together since September of last year and got along well. I have looked for eggs as I was told that that might be the reason why the orange have become aggressive but can't see anything. Please help, I feel so sorry for those black fish.

Welcome to R2R.

When clownfish begin to sexually mature it is common for a dominate female to attack any other female transitioning or already a female. In smaller to medium sized tanks this is particularly troublesome as their is no where to flee. I would remove the fish under attack.

After a couple of hours, I was able to catch them - lol.
Let's see what happens. Thank you .

Welcome to R2R! A few weeks back an R2R member posted about being bitten on his eye by an aggressive clown. Guard your eyes! LOL
