Is it me or is this little guys right gill seemingly not working like the left? Maybe that’s normal?

Definitely not normal, but I don’t know the cause. I’m no medical expert. Hope someone has an answer for you

yikes- This isnt good. The clown has an ulcer on its gill which hay have stemmed from injury or infection. It is very infected and may or may not heal with antibiotic treatment. You will want to place it in quarantine with added aeration and treat with seachem kanaplex or neoplex which are broad spectrum treatments.
Wish this was brought up sooner as fish cannot eat or breathe normally reducing chance of recovery

Ok - will head to the local store and quarantine this guy first thing tomorrow. Hopefully he gets better!

+1 on that being a very serious injury/infection. With the one gill essentially not working, the other one has to work twice as hard.

Welp that was quick! He’s already dead :( I guess I gotta really setup a QT for future fish rather than adding them directly to my tank; In my defense it’s my first tank so live and learn…

Sorry for the loss.

I looked through your post history and realized you have a problem with keeping any fish alive. I would work on troubleshooting your tank and see what is causing this issue. If your tank is 2 months old, it should be ready for fish. Make sure all your parameters are in check. Make sure you have no outside sources of pollution (candles, air fresheners, chemicals, etc. Make sure you have plenty of gas exchange in your tank. Make sure you don't have anything in the tank leaching chemicals. Are you adding too many fish too quickly? There has to be an issue as to why you are not able to keep fish alive.

Oh no - that was indeed quick. As I stated earlier, reduced chance of recovery and as Jay stated, with one functional gill, you can imagine the struggle with one gill similar to a human with one functional lung

There have been a few fish that have died yes. But my core ones are doing fine (goby, clown, fox face, cleaner shrimp, crabs, snails) so I’m leaning towards it just being the fish didn’t acclimate well? Probably should of setup a QT tank but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with my DT
