Clown fish help!

Is this guy ok? Looks like a breath a second. Nothing I would be concerned about with params, Ca and Mg high but doubt that’s it. She’s about a month old. Has seemed to be struggling with the flow since I had her but the smaller one is fine. Has a tendency to stay at the top, that’s normal for her so far but just looks like active now, almost like she cba.
if there’s anything I can please suggest. Thanks in advance.

How big is the tank? And whats the ammonia at?

40G. Tested ammonia yesterday, was 0. Same for nitrite. About 10 nitrate. pH was about 7.9 but was around midway thru the light cycle. KH around 9

Not necessarily. My blue tang felt it before my smaller clowns when mine spiked due to a false test reading. I would test again just to be safe. Also maybe add an airstone. Are you running carbon?

What test kit are you using?

Oddly my carbon is about 3 month old. Ordered new yesterday and arriving today. I have a skimmer so assumed that would be sufficient for O2? Regularly open the window in the room too. Will do ammonia again asap. Strange that last night I also didn’t see any of the hermits walking about…. Does that suggest anything?

API is very unreliable and often gives very off readings. I would get a Fluval or Red sea test kit ASAP. Also would get an airstone for that small of a tank. Are your hermits dead? I suspect your ammonia is actually very high and toxic and youre getting a wrong test reading

I would probably do a 25% water change tonight to be honest

Difficult to say as they hide a lot, lots of places to hide. One shed their skin last night so doubt they’re dead. Turbos and sexys and bumble bees all ok

Ok. Will do. And get a different test kit… do I need to bail home or could it wait you think until later do you think? Considering the other stuff I’ve mentioned?
