My clown has a white gash on the side and one of his lower fins doesn't move he swims vertically essentially all day and only leaves the corner to swim upright for food. When he swims upright he struggles to stay up right(he leans toward the side where the fin isnt moving) i have a firefish goby, yellow wrasse cleanrr shrimp, tuxedo urchin, and another clown that is perfectly healthy . I am thinking that the clown attacked it but there has been no sign of agression that i have witnessed it happened while i was at work. The tank is 4 months up and the clowns have been together for 3 weeks. Is this clown aggression and anyway i can defuse it or is it something worse. I dont want to qt because im afraid the extra stress will do him in. And advice would be great!

Well if you don't want to move him to QT I would just keep a good eye on it and make sure it is eating. If it starts to look infected at all you can treat the food with Metro and Focus (antibiotic and binder)

A methelyne blue bath would be a good idea and pristine water conditions with a uv sterilizer are your best bet to prevent infection from bacteria in the water. If it's from aggression then you should separate him from the other clown in a qt but it's also possible that he hurt himself some other way. I hope he makes it.

Second thing i did was do a water change and test the water everything is where they should be and now I'm just keeping a eye out if i see any agression i will qt but i will start with the antibiotics thanks!

You're welcome! Here is some new information I shared about antibiotics the other day. I would still recommend the methelyne blue bath as a first step

As people have stated above, I would do a methylene blue bath and keep a eye out for infections. Eating is also a good sign. I hope your clown recovers!

Yesterday afternoon i gave the clown a blue bath i fed them this morning and he would not eat. I did not see any infection i went to my local fish store for some antibiotics to prepair for the worst and also ran a few errands i was gone for maybe 2 hours and when i returned he was belly up thank you all for the advice and help i am monitoring the other fish and they look healthy my sps are still open and i tested my water parameters everything seems ok. I am sad to say this did not end well.
