Hey this might be a newbie ? But here goes. I have 2 young snowflake clowns, who were sold to me as a mated pair , an seemed to be just that till I added my rbta. Now the obvious female hosts the anemone while the smaller male seems to be content to chill in a lower flow area. She does pick on him a little but not Anything alarming. And they will hang together a little but it seems the nem has split them apart a lil. It's only been like this for about 10 days. Will they eventually click into place or is there something I need to do?

And I guess once one hosts the other will follow suit ? Like a sort of socially activated genetic action

Good Job

What you got going on is the right thing.

The larger female has taken charge of the anemone keeping the male out of it. This is part of a pairing process.

Clownfish sold as mated pairs are not exactly what they seem. They are basically two clownfish that get along but that's it. They arent mated or a mated pair until they lay eggs. Dont be fooled.

Dont worry its all good give it time, feed them well, and they will eventually pair up.

They are small so you have time

They probably just had an argument. Me and my wife do it all the time. The female just probably sent him to sleep on the couch for looking at another wrasse

thanks for the advice... and the laughs. I'm sort of new to the salt end of this hobby, adn love to learn all I can about my little guys!
