Sorry, I just don't have much confidence in the API kits in general. I think they can be difficult to use correctly and even then the results can be suspect. Even with that said, I am surprised that nitrite is so high. What does nitrate measure?

You probably already know this but just since nobody has mentioned it yet, Prazi (and some other medications though I’m blanking on which ones) deplete oxygen in a tank so you need to make sure to have extra flow/surface agitation to compensate. I hope your fish recover!

i figure that the water changes that were done. All the meds are now gone.. just regular saltwater. If the nitrite reading is true. then i will do another water change tonight. And 50 % water changes every day until thing are stable.

from what i see looks like its at least 1ppm

Nitrite isn’t supposed to be toxic in saltwater, but it reading very high would indicate an ammonia spike that occurred.

im gonna take my water to the fish store tomorrow morning to verify if the water is toxic.

but i read some where that nitrite poisoning can also kill fish. if exposed for long periods of time. Is that the case?

Others would know this one better than me - but I remember reading that nitrite is not toxic in saltwater. It is deadly in freshwater though.

Well I woke up this morning and seen both clowns were swimming around... I guess this is a good thing.
But both of them were swimming towards the top just hovering.

Is see the clown try to eat pellets but spit them out. (Maybe too big).
I will continue to watch closely until water quality is better.

Swimming is a good sign.
Try crushing up the pellets.
Swimming into the flow like that could be indicative of velvet, so keep an eye out for other symptoms.

Well here is a update:::

Looks like one of the clown has passed and the other one is barely hanging on and probably wont live through the day.
Even with the 1 ppm of nitrite and daily water changes, and dosing live nitrifying bacteria. Both clowns won't make it. the salin tang inside the tank seems to be still eating but not swimming as much, constantly hiding.
kinda of sucks cuz those storms clowns were expensive.
