i have a clown fish that I started watching yesterday and this morning. In the main tank he was swimming near the bottom and opening and closing his mouth ( not gasping)
He looks ok with some slime on top of his head but he was very very easily caught
Which I did and put him into quarantine right away I tried to feed him after I put him in there but it didn't look like he was eating
I really can't see anything wrong with him but my concer is swimming close to the bottom ( alone and not with his partner) and how easy he was caught
I have some pictures of him but don't show him that well

Any ideas he's in Qt and I added hydroplex to the water and aerating a lot

Thanks

Thanks nothing has entered the tank fish wise in three months corals in two months and all were dipped and QT in hydroplex
Strange but will watch and treat
Thanks

+1 it's really hard to see from the photos but I can almost infer brook. Clownfish can act pretty odd but it may be worth going through the motions so to speak and treat.

If nothing wet has entered the tank in two months, it's probably not brook. You should've seen more definitive signs by now. It could maybe be a small injury, or something bacterial. I would just watch it for now and, and be ready just in case antibiotics are needed. Feed nutritious, vitamin enriched foods and keep the water clean.

Thanks I think doing 10 to 13 gal water changes weekly and changing filter socks twice a week and using carbon ought to keep that tank clean
I'm also dosing rally which contains Acriflavine I have used it in the past ( a year ago

Rally is actually better used as a bath in a 5g bucket or other container. Prolonged use in QT can actually foul up the water [emoji15]

Oh no I'm not using it in the QT and I think your talking more about hydroplex? I have used rally in the tank for three days. Hydroplex I just do ten minutes at a tine

I'm not sure what the main ingredient in Hydroplex is, and have never used it. It does say on the website that it doesn't cure anything, it only helps control diseases so I'm not sure about how effective it is as a QT method. We KNOW that Rally has acriflavin in it which is great for brook especially if followed up with metroplex treatment in QT.

I don't think the fish has brook, since you should have seen signs of it before now. I don't see anything of concern in the pictures either. Wait and watch is what I would suggest. See if you can get him eating well and watch for heavy breathing.
