So one of my clowns jump out of my tank today .... I made a lid for my tabk and now im looking to get a new clown to go with the one that is srill in there... can i get a different clown? I have a Ocellaris clown in there but could i get a different kind? Just want to make sure they get along.

While it could work, it is dependable, first of all, do you mean like a different species of clown, or a different variant? And also it would depend on your tank size, how big is your tank?

I'd get another Ocellaris.

The tank is tad small in my opinion for two clowns, but it's not too bad. Other than that either of those would work since they are still ocellaris clowns. Just make sure the size isn't too different.

In general, Clowns are very territorial. A Clown of a different breed might result in fighting because they don't get along. Now, on top of that, you have territorial sparring.

I had a pair of Tomato Clowns and lost one. They were in a 20 gallon. They bonded quickly. I think the greatest likiliness for success will be one of the same breed.

A variant of Ocellaris (designer) may well work fine, I don’t see that being any more troublesome than a regular Ocellaris but adding clowns is always a gamble.
