Clown fish jumped out

Hey all, I woke up this morning and couldn’t find one of my clownfish, after a more careful examination I found him on the floor all dried up. I’m so angry/sad I have a lid on the tank and covered up the larger gaps at the corners. There was only about 1cm of space between the lid and the tank and, of course, he decided to jump through there. My parameters are all good and my other clownfish is perfectly fine. I’m so disappointed and not sure if I should get another to keep my remaining clown company or just leave it as it is. So sad

It sure does happen. I had one wrasse jump through eggcrate. Had to be an olympic jumper in previous life. So sorry for your loss.

I had two clowns. Both Frosbite or something like that..... (Snow and Walter White) One would occasionally pick on the other (Snow picked on Walter). After 3 months maybe, Walter jumped....

Snow stayed solo in the tank, and moved to the main tank, and was solo for > 1yr. I finally decided to add a midnight clown, about half Snow’s size..... just to roll the dice........, They have been snuggled up and inseparable since about 4 hours after introduction.....

For what it’s worth, Snow and Walter were purchased from the same tank at the same time from a local shop....so I urge you to get a much smaller second clown, and add it at a later date.

So sorry for your lost clown. Just happened to me too. I had three very happy clowns. One, an original over a year old, I added two more and they were all fine. My tank has a RSR cover with mesh screen. Also only a small gap in the back. He must've jumped out during the day and dried out on the screen Sadly, if I didn't have the cover perhaps he would have landed back in the water. Heartbroken..
