Help. New at this reef stuff. I have purchased 6 clowns, 2-3 different times. Tank is now 6 months old. I take water samples to local store every 2-3 weeks and they keep saying the water is great. Purple tang, sail fin tang, pink spotted goby are doing great. Corals, zoas, Duncan, green hammer, and acans are health and growing. Within a week every clown has developed a thick white film, heavy breathing and die within a day. What can I do? Any recommendations?

Stress is lowering their immune system it seems. Symptoms from search could be a couple issues. Hopefully one of expierenced members can help. Whatever is killing em could be in your tank already and only affecting new adds due to stress or riding in with new fish. Quarantine and acclimation may help as 6 tankreefer said.
I wouldn’t add anything else till you get a better answer be a shame to have your other fish affected. Good luck will be following

To add, what size is your tank? It certainly sounds like Brook, but adding 6 fish at one time is also a MAJOR addition unless you have a MAJOR tank/system.

I would think that stress also plays a role in this case, considering you are adding that many fish at one time.

I only added 2 at a time. After they died I waited a couple weeks, then got to more, then repeat.
