Yep, mine do it! Mine usually just do it in the same one or two spots but it is definitely normal activity.

Any reason why? He/she also swims to the very top of the tank and shoots from one end to the other. Fun to watch

Not sure if there's a reason why? I've got a pair and they both do it. They also sleep at the very top of the tank at night literally laying on top of one another. They are characters!

Mine does this also but the sand smothered my lobo and eventually killed it, no matter where I moved the lobo my clown kept covering it with sand ,it was annoying !

I've never seen my clown do this until today when we added a Pygmy Angel. I was wondering if he thinks the Pygmy Angel is his new mate.

I see mine do it all the time. I always thought maybe clearing a spot for eggs but could be just to do it

Some do it ,some don't...tomatoes are notorious for it..

I see mine doing this and then returning to the anemone and shaking in it. Thinking maybe this is a way to pick up nutrients or food from the sand for the anemone?

Mine are always high in the tank. I don't know if they are afraid of some other fish. They are like about an 1.5 inch so not small.

My Clarkii will bo the as a sign of aggression, or when he doesn't like a change i made in the tank. As far as aggression, I moved something, another fish is in his area, I introduce a new tank mate ECT.

I have a 55 with only two clown fish that is it, it's just full of live rock and is my frag tank. They hang out at the very top left corner and that's it. They are alone so I see this as Normal for some clowns
