Hi guys,
So my clowns lay eggs about a week ago
And this morning I notice there where less eggs, I looked around my tank and nothing so I went to work came back and notice my fish eating the eggs!
I was shocked, so my clowns are eating the eggs

Does any one know why?? This behavior

I think they'll mouth the eggs pretty vigorously, keeping them clean and healthy. Is it possible they're not actually eating them?

Mine at their eggs too the first few times. Don't know why.
After that they laid the eggs on a regular basis. On about 21 days they would hatch right after the lights go out.
Recently, I lowered the tank temp down to 75º six months ago and never laid eggs again.

Well I've heard a couple things about this. One is if there are dead eggs, they will eat those eggs. But I've also heard that if they feel the environment is not conducive to the developing fry, they'll eat them as well.

Regardless, unless you are prepared with a growing source of rotifers, and a tank to transfer them to, they are doomed once they are born.
