I noticed that my female clownfish will nip at my smaller, male clown fish for about 1-3 seconds, then my male will show himself off by dancing. Is this normal behavior by a female?

How long have you had them? Sounds like they are going through the bonding process. The female is showing her dominance. Perfectly normal. Mine did the same thing. I now have a mated pair of snowflake clowns. [emoji16]

I've had them since June 24th.

Mine did the same thing. They finally settled down and were little love birds.

My mate of 30 years exhibits this exact behavior when she wants a chore done, excepts she keeps after me constantly until the task is completed to her satisfaction. If you have any compassion, you would remove the smaller fish to safety immediately before it's too late. :)

Sounds like a normal marriage...

Wife nip and nags..... Husband does a dance to try to get out of chores
