Hello everyone

i think i may have ran into a little problem but I'm not sure. One of my clown is breathing heavy and not really swimming much. All my levels are are perfect in the tank 8.2 ph and everything else is at 0ppm. and just have a slight trace of phosphates at 1ppm. the tank is roughly been running for little over three weeks and nothing else is having problems.

please help i am stumped!

Running for three weeks after it completed its cycle? Are you testing for ammonia....which is very detrimental to fish.

Unless you used a bacteria booster (ie Biospira), or existing cycled rock, it's hard to believe three weeks would be enough for a tank to cycle. Double check your ammonia number or take a water sample to an LFS or fellow reefer to test.

i bought an already established tank with live rock. i replaced the sand with new live sand and added some more live rock and also used a bacteria booster. brought water to my local fish store and they said everything looks great. my levels are perfect just the fish looks like its breathing heavy. i also have another clown and yellow watchmen and some cleanup crew and everything looks great no problems with them.

Well I'm at a loss!

might I suggest (since I'm at a loss as well) you take as good of a picture of the clown as possible, collect all current water parameters, and post this in the fish disease and treatment forum? There are some really great people that hang out there that may be better able to diagnose a problem for you. They might see this here anyway, but it would probably be quicker for you if you do. Good luck!

Is it ok to use this to cycle?
