My clown fish continuously stays in the top left corner of my tank. He also swims all different ways upside down, sideways and normal but mostly stays upright. I also have another clown fish in the tank who is completely fine except he always is like watching the other swim up top from the bottom of the tank. Please help I'm so confused??????

Also do they eat the food off the bottom? I usually only see them eat it when it falling.

Mine eat anything and everything from everywhere so as long as they are eating I wouldn't worry. Is the one "normal" one bullying the other? Maybe that's why it's retreated to the corner?

No actually it's the opposite. The one up in the corner is bigger and bullies the normal one if it comes up there then the little one does some weird shake thing.

My male is also a weirdo. He prefers to stay in the corner, right at the seam of the glass panels. He also sleeps in the corner vertical.
Sounds like your weirdo is a female, the normal one is the male.

In all honesty when a clown is primarily in the top corner he is being picked on or something is bothering him. I've seen of they usually jump ship and you find them on the floor a few days later

Well the bigger I heard is the female and the male is the smaller one. But either way how long has your fish been like that? Is your water ok? My water was checked today it's in perfect shape.

Since I got them. Which was 11/20/12. I have talked to people about their behavior and the most likely culprit is that it is a 90g tank, these guys have been kept in small tanks their whole lives, and I have no other fish/water column critters so they are most likely a bit scared and think there is a predator out there. They seem happy and content with their corner, they like to chew on their rock getting it ready to be a nest. My water is good, not great, but I am working on keeping things more stable. And I have lids so no fish are leaving my tank.

Your tank sounds very nice I'm about to post a video of my clownfish doin his thing lol

My tank is just new(ish)! Only started in September, and have been taking things very very slow.
But clown fish are just silly and weird. As long as they are eating and not sick, and seem happy, I would just leave them be. Not much you can do to make her swim differently anyway =P

I havent seen mine eat off the ground. Ive seen them nip at rocks some times. Its probably because I feed them way too much though so they know they'll get plenty of food the next day.

It sinks to fast I'm feeding mine little tiny reddish pellets. What about you?

I've had 2 clowns in my 75 gallon for about two weeks now and they are quirky. They sleep at the extreme top left corner and move around a little during the day, sticking together at all times. Finding them at the surface every morning worried me but I think they are fine, as soon as they wake up they mostly hide under the overflow box during the day unless they think they are about to be fed. They came from a tank with a lot of corals and I don't have anything but Live rock, yet.

Yeah i use the same type of sinking pellets it seems. My diamond watchman goby eats them all up. Thats why Im a victim of over feeding. I put one pinch in then half of then sink or they just happen to be looking the wrong direction so i put another pinch in. Just use lots of small amounts of pellets and give them time to chew Haha

Oh and mine would swim near the top corners every now and then but once i got my bta they only swim near it

Food food food

If you over feed that extra food on the bottom will cause algae like crazy u might want to clean it up if its sitting all over the bottom man

^ It sure will!

Thats why I've got a CUC and my watchman goby.

Some of it comes out with weekly water changes
