So I came home today and everything was fine, my two black clown fish where happy and sleeping like normal (My lights turn off by the time I get home from work). Pulled some water out to make an iodine bath for my elegance ( https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/elegance-coral-help.490430/ ), Everything looked fine. Went to the bathroom came out to see one of my clown fish rush to the top of the tank and jump, fall back into the water gasping for air while sinking to the bottom. His skin was greyish white, when I scopped him out and put him in the a container I was preparing to add iodine for the coral bath, and watch my poor clown die right there. Like fine to dead in 5 minutes.. Unless I missed something when I came home everything looked 'normal'.

I went and retested everything..
Salinity 1.025
Ammonia 0
Nitrates 5
Phosphate 0
Alkalinity 8
pH 7.92
Temp 77

Shurgs I am at a loss on this one, as there where no signs of him being sick, just suddenly panicked and kicked the bucket? The other two fish in the tank Flame Hawkfish, and another black clown are both fine. No signs of stress or sickness. Any advice?

How long have you had the clown?

This happens to me too I found out my hermit crabs would mess with them at night. They killed 4 fish that I had I took all the hermits out and never had a problem since.

huh.. Maybe the hermit crabs don't have enough food, or just jerks.. I'll have to keep an eye on this.
