I have 2 juvenile clown fish, one bigger than the other, the bigger of the two who was picking on the smaller has had her tail fin attacked by what I'm guessing by a crab in my tank that I can't identify. She was swimming under the live rock, I checked on her that evening and her tail was shredded, she then went on to swim around the tank and stayed away from the rock, I checked on her in the morning and nearly all of her tail fin was gone! I have now separated her in a breeding box and I just want to know if her fin will grow back, she is still swimming about and eating

The fin should grow back just keep on eye on it for a bacterial infection. Recently damaged skin can lead to other problems rather quickly. As long as the water is good and she is eating it should grow back as long as there the damage didn't go all the way to the scales.

It depends on how far towards the body the damage goes. Same thing happened to my clown (from a 2nd clown's aggression) and where the damage went all the way to the peduncle the fin didnt grow back. Where it didnt go all the way down to the peduncle it did grow back.

She stopped eating and looked very sick, I think she may have had some sort of infection and because of the tail fin damage she wasn't strong enough to fight it off, other fish is doing fine he just needs a friend
