Clown Fish Today With White Poop

Had a little stringy white poop today in my male clown today... I’ve been feeding them mainly New Life Spectrum Thera+A pellets. And they occasionally get some Chunky when I feed my Rock Flower . I fed direct Chunky cut up real small after I seen The string after 2 hours or so and he managed to bypass it... he’s been in the tank with his lady for about 9 months now...should I worry about parasites ?? Should I try to diversify their diet???

Also it was probably a half inch long after he managed to get it out ..

I noticed this yesterday with one of my new wyoming clowns. Looked like about a 1-inch white poop. Now I am worried. Thanks for the info though.

White stringy poop is tell tale of worms, Prazipro works best to get rid of them. It’s reef safe, but it will kill all other worms and feather dusters in the tank.

It might but I don’t know if it’s as effective, I’ve never read anyone trying it. I’ve only ever dosed for it once in my display tank. I dose in a QT for every fish.

I don’t have space or the money to do a qt. When I move into my house and set up a 120 I will deffinitely be doing a QT to help prevent sickness I should just do away with the fishnow my goby jumped out!! Just have clowns and dottyback now. But a ton of coral in my 40. I ordered both so they will be here in a week!! Hopefully my poor lil friend will make it until I can get him some treatment

I do have attachment to them. They know when I walk by them into the kitchen I’m about to feed and they start schooling near the top going crazy haha. And have grown a ton since I put them in. Well mostly the female. The male hasn’t gotten much bigger.

After some searching, I ended up ordering NLS Hex Shield medicated food which should be here tomorrow. Again tonight one of my clowns had this white poop string hanging ~1" behind him. I am hoping the Hex Shield pellets do the trick. It is supposed to treat intestinal parasites.
After losing all my fish last year to velvet having my first fish in a year get sick in less than a week Is not very encouraging. Hopefully, they pull through ok.
How common is this?

Try soaking food in Metroplex and Focus.

Soaking food in metro and focus works fairly well on internal worms.

You could also try the hexshield pellets if your fish eat pellets. I've heard of some people having good results with it.

I might try the hexshield pellets as well for a couple days. All my fish eat pellets, and if that doesn’t work. Do the prazi focus combo

Seachem's "Focus" product binds medications to food, which delivers them directly to internal parasites. If you find that the Hex Shield pellets aren't helping, I've successfully used Focus with API's "General Cure", which is a powdered combination of Praziquantel (the active ingredient in Prazi-Pro) and Metronidazole (the active ingredient in Metroplex). Mixing it with either pellets or frozen/thawed food delivers the payload right where it's needed.

I’ve noticed my female fish developing. White spots of her main upper fin. I’m guessing this is because of stress as well as the parasites. and causing a ick out break .. if I can’t QT. Is it possible the treatments I’ve ordered can subdue the parasites and cancel the stress she is feeling and overcoming the ick. Or is QT the only possible way now??

Since starting the HexShield pellets 2 days ago I have not seen the white stringy stuff hanging off the clowns. I keep checking to make sure I am not just missing it. One more day of treatment to go. So far it is looking good.

I used Metro and Focus for my clown that had the same. I followed @Humblefish 's instructions, dosed the food in the tank, reef safe. Good after about a week of meds every other day. Didn't want to use prazi in the tank as I have a lot of feather dusters.
