Hi all
So after weeks of cycling, I introduce a pair of clown fish to my tank and I'm a bit concern about their behaviour as they mostly stay in the corner , close to water surface (I've got them for about 12 hours) Its look like their are gasping for air . I'll attached video, if anyone can tell me please if that's a normal behaviour or am I just panicking . Thank You

They seem to be normal to me, my two clowns have always lived in the back of my tank no matter how much I want them to be out and about more they aren't.

The bigger one takes her male slave out from the corner occasionally and goes for a walkabout around the tank sometimes sniffing at the surface the same way yours are.

As for your clowns breathing fast I can't see their gills movements on your videos I'm afraid so can't comment on that but behavioural wise they seem to be doing the usual.

One thing I noticed is that when I introduced clowns to a new tank they stayed in the corner for a day I didn’t like it so I turned all pump off for the night and by morning they were down by the rocks and much more settled in. I then turned pumps back on.

Seems normal to me, clown will take their time to explore the tank. It took mine about 3 months to get comfortable around the entire tank. They’ll pick a corner they like and where they can sleep and mostly stick to it

Thanks for the quick reply guys . Their gills seems to look ok. what about that thing when they popping out their heads to a water surface , is that normal ? They doing that every couple of minutes sometimes even more often then that .

The going to the surface is an oxygen depletion issue. Make sure your powerheads are making enough agitation at the top to make sure your fish have enough oxygenation

As long as they’re eating, they’ll be OK. Clowns are notorious for acting weird.
