I have 10 saddleback clowns from the same clutch of eggs. They were given to me by Stratton school's coral reef project that I volunteer at. They also have me 2 anemones. The clowns are now about 1 inch long and all live together and play happily in both anemones. For now They reside in a separate 30 gallon. I am wondering if I could ever expect to put them in a 100 gallon reef with other fish that are not clowns? Or if they could live in harmony in a 100 gallon reef if they are the only fish?

Not sure if you could put them with other fish but check out bulk reef supplies YouTube videos. They have a clownfish harem tank and recommend them to be from the same clutch like you have and plenty of anemones for the clowns to host so there is reduced aggression.

Also if there are any color morphs or ones that looked different they may have a greater chance of being picked on.

Just keep an eye on them but imo I would keep them seperated from other fish outside of the clutch.

Edit: here is a link to where they add the clownfish. If you watch a few of the episodes past they continue to talk about the issues and what they would do different as well.

I have seen that harem tank. It is pretty cool. I thought about doing it. Maybe I will. How large of a tank should I put them in for long term? I've never been a fish person. It's all about the coral for me. I do have 1 clarke clown in my reef that I've had for over 10 years. A harem tank would be pretty sweet.

Haha honestly I'm more of a coral person myself. I do like some of the fish though. I would love to do a harem tank some day but most likely I'll do a nem tank with a breeding clown pair. I wish I could give you a number but if it were me I would probably do a 120. I like the dimensions and I figure that might give 5 pairs enough space but I could be wrong.
