Clown fish

Hello,
I recently purchased some inverts a week ago from a website a few times and have never had a problem until today. I noticed my clown was acting off a few days ago but clowns are weird so I chalked it up to that. Today I noticed he clearly has something wrong with him. I believe his skin has started sloughing off. I attached a video, no other fish are showing signs of sickness.

That is my fear, I am super annoyed. The inverts came from a no-fish tank so I dont get it. /sigh

It does look like it could be Brooklynella - sorry!

Can you report the video? It didn't come through for me.

I wish dealers wouldn't mix fish and invertebrates in their systems. Yours was fishless, but do you know that it had been fishless for the previous six weeks or so? I went a a dealer a few months back - I wanted to buy some CUC for a small home tank I have - their invert system looked fishless, so I started picking things out. I then happened to glance down in the sump and saw they had put a tang with ich in there, apparently for it to "get better". I just left the store....

Let me try and get a video, I tried uploading one and the video never showed. That’s a great point about the sump possibly having fish in them (which seems silly given how water works lol)

So I think I am going crazy. I left to go to a doctors appointment, come back, see the responses and go to take a video... and he has nothing on him... NOTHING!? I swear he had white patches of stuff all over he was acting really weird. Then it hit me: I dosed the tank a day ago with Chemiclean to try and remove some bad red algea. Is it possible that the behavior (looking like he was breathing hard) and the stuff coming off of him was just a reaction to the medications?

The fish is breathing heavy and is shimmying, but I don’t see any overt signs of brooklynella. Since it seems better to you, you might want to try feeding it to see if it eats, and if so, give it another day?

Ya I had an order in at a fish store for some more fish, so I called them and told them I will hold off until I know for sure that there is nothing in the tank. I figured I would do the 20% water change that Chemiclean says tonight and check on him tomorrow. Thanks for checking in, I will give an update tomorrow!

Well unfortuantly I woke up this morning and he had died. The cuc were at him and there was not much left. I will watch my other couple of fish for signs of distress. Thanks all!
