I have a mocha clown fish he's about a inch big I've had him for about a week I was wondering if he will eventually host a anemone or something else if he's by himself? Will he also get any bigger ?? If not should I pair him up with another clown ?

Yes he will reside in anemone or a coral in the absence of another clown. Anemones host.

He might host an anemone, he might not. Lots of tricks to trying to get your clown to host as well...flashlights, putting both the clown and anemone in a small space, etc...Or you can just let nature do its thing.

I have 2 snowflake clowns whom are happy to host the corner / overflow in my Nuvo 38 tank. They don't go anywhere near my RBTA in that tank. I also have 2 tomato clowns whom host everything (torch, frogspawn, duncans, flowerpot, toadstool, etc) in my 90G tank.

So the clown to host something it needs another clown with it or not necessarily ??

Not necessarily. A second clown is not necessary when trying to get your clowns to host.

Do the clowns irritate the corals to the point where they refuse to open and eventually die?

It's possible that the clowns can be rough will corals, thus resulting in the coral to die.

The anemone does the hosting, not the clown. (( You host a party at your house ))

Being paired with another clown or not will have zero affect on the clown being hosted.

If you do pair it, stick with the same species, and get a clown that is smaller than your existing one. An acclimation box is very helpful for this.

Strongly recommend against forcing a clown to be hosted --- possible to end up with an eaten clown; let nature take its course if you decide to go with an anemone (( and your tank can support one )).

My clown used to host in my hammer coral. Rescued an elegance coral and another clown, now they reside there. Tried the flashlight trick because the elegance never opens even halfway anymore
