Recently did a tank rescue / transplant after being without a tank for 15yrs and it seems you all are light years beyond what little i remember. Every time i turn around there's a new problem! I inherited a pair of clowns wh

ich i love, and they have soldiered through every ignorant thing i have thrown at them with an uncanny invincibility. Then i saw this white spot on either side of her mouth. I read through the diagnosis thread and it seems like it could fall into several different diagnosis. Is it ick ? Is there a cure all treatment that you recommend?

Too big to be Ich. Could be an injury with a bit of a bacterial infection. A very mild treatment would be a bath in good old methylene blue. Then observe if the area grows or becomes red-ish or you see necrosis.

One of my clowns has a similar spot - it comes and goes and I'm pretty sure it's from her beating her head against the side of whatever she is currently attacking - generally the glass scraper, the net or my hand. They have spikes on their cheeks and mine loves to use them.

It goes away / heals / gets better then comes back. Always in the same spot - never have shown any sign of any disease.
