I got this clown from someone breaking down their tank but the black fins make me this it’s different than a regular orange ocellaris. Can any confirm if this has a particular name?

looks like cute little panda fins when it’s in the water.

thanks

agree , true percula ... :)

Thanks for the replies guys! I guess I’m confused what this other clownfish is? They seem to be different to me. Is there anything unique about the true percula?

appears to be just age color darkening.

Looks at dark pigments, this a true percula often confused with occellaris but classified as percula.
Difference is True percula will have:
  • Thin black lines outlining the white stripes
  • Dark eyes with a little hint of orange
  • Eleven spines that make up the dorsal fin VS 10 on an occellaris

Yup. Looks like an anenome fish. Perc or occellaris it really is basically imo the same fish. Lol.
I'm not a scientist though.

Wish vendors and fish sites would not take pictures like this so that everyone's doing it.
