I've been keeping clowns for a long time. Currently my largest female has been hosting her BRA for more than a few months and I mean she LOVES her nem. Today all the sudden she packed her bags and moved to the baby s.haddoni. I've never had a clown abandon a nem in exchange for another. Anyone else?

I've heard stories about clowns bouncing back and forth between two different nems, switching nems permanently, or even just checking out the new one temporarily before going back to the original one. She might be just attracted to this one for now and may change her mind later. Just have to wait and see.

lol. I have a pair of clowns that host two different nems. one is an plain ole ugly atlantic nem(huge) and an RBTA. they mostly host in the atlantic as it is bigger and was their first. but, they go back and forth all day. and sometimes sleep in one or the other. very odd fish indeed!

Some clowns leave an anemone that is ill. Some are just plain greedy and want all of the anemones!! Mine play "musical anemones" when night comes until they settle in.

Yeah I'm witnessing a case of the dog who tried to steal the bone from his reflection. My maroon has now claimed the black ocs old BTA and it's now a game of musical anemones. She wants them all and the rest are trying to claim what's left. I'm thinking its time to go nem shopping again.

Definitely isn't the strangest thing clowns have done! At least they figured out that the nem is the correct place to be - mine think a fist sized piece of Favia is the correct place to host and there are 2 parallel strips of nearly bare skeleton from where the 2 of them have been rubbing/sleeping for the past few months...

I've heard of people taping a piece of paper with a picture of a clown hosting whatever they want theirs to host in on the opposite side of the tank and reporting that it worked. I know it sounds absurd, but apparently it works - I have yet to try it yet though. I'd rather limit the clown's destruction to a single coral..

Lol I tried that!! I tried everything at first. The only gimmick that seemed to have any effect was to use a spotlight to backlight the nem at night.
